Road Paving in Recent Years
In recent years, the following roads and sidewalks have been improved with the help of grants both federal and state. The streets that have been improved are Church Street from Nestle to Scott Mccullough Drive, as well as a storm drain had to be repaired and much of it replaced. Doerr Road from M81 to South Division had drains installed. South Division and North Division have been improved for purposes of the milk plant and other Industrial developments. Garfield from Doerr Road to Cemetery Road was repaved. Bulen Drive and Ale Street from Garfield to Seeger Street next to the high school were paved, in addition, sidewalks were put in Garfield to Seeger. Along the sidewalk from Rose Street to Seeger attractive streetlights were installed.
The Chamber along with the pink October Committee has done an excellent job in bringing out cancer awareness. To date, they have raised an estimated $10,000. Their next event is October 25th from 5 to 6:30 PM. A number of businesses on Main Street will have tables in front of their businesses with trick or treats. On Wednesday, October 19, Joey Kreeger and her team had a talent show in which some 200 people attended and money was raised. Congratulations to the Chamber, Joey and their committee.
The Chamber is already preparing for Christmas in the Village on December 3rd. Christmas in the Village has become a very popular event in the community. The parade will start at the football field on Ale Street and continue down Main Street with the major event being at the VFW Hall. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will host the many children who will be at the VFW hall.

Note from Council Member Nancy Barrios
This past week, our community lost Ray Donaldson, a citizen who regularly attended Village Council meetings for a number of years. His personal commitment to this community was always foremost in whatever he did. I would like to recognize his contribution to this community, and express my deepest sympathy to his family.
It has been an honor and pleasure to serve the residents of the Village of Cass City over the past five years, and I will continue to do what I can to positively affect the growth and prosperity of Cass City. This is a wonderful community, and I am proud to call it “home”.
