MANAGER SEARCH

The MML Search Committee says that the application process for the Cass City Village Manager position will close at the close of business on June 9, 2017.

Jeff Mueller, MML Executive Recruiter, will seek to meet with the Council within 10 days of the June 9th closing date to bring you up to date on his findings and to arrange meeting dates with the Village Council and his recommended applicants.

We are expecting Jeff to forward a schedule or to have one for Council at the first meeting date with him.

OFFICE STAFF

The staff has been involved in preparatory work for 11 meetings since the April 24th Council meeting.  They have also been involved in the Audit and Pre-Audit fieldwork, re-searching village owned properties, assisting in putting together the summer day-camp 17-page booklet as well as other projects along with their regular duties.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Chief says that activity is still up. He is well satisfied with Department Operations.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

The crew is busy with their routine summer work, which includes sewer cleaning, sweeping streets, patching streets, picking up brush and equipment maintenance.

Park activity continues to increase.

 

PROJECTS

Beechwood Paving – We have yet to receive a paving schedule from Astec Paving.

South Seeger Water and Sewer Main Crossing – Bid requests are being sent out.

Asset Management Plan – The 1st draft is scheduled for reading by August 1, 2017.

BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS

Ten permits were issued in 2016.

Three permits have been issued to date in 2017.v
