Kathie Grinzinger asked if the Council would set the date to meet with her staff for some time in the first or second week in April as they will be attending a MML Conference during the previously scheduled time. In response to her, we asked that she send us one or two dates that we could bring before Council and come back to her with a response.
The Staff has been involved in preparatory work for 11 different meetings since the February 27th Council meeting.
The question that keeps coming up at the desk is “when is the grocery store coming in?”. No questions lately on the water billing.
Everything is going well.
The Chief is satisfied with Department operations.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
The tabulation of election results for 3 full time and 2 part time employees joining the Teamsters Union were recently received. The information was forwarded to the Village Attorney.
Gary barnes, DPW Superintendent, attended a Water Conference to keep up to date and to earn credits toward maintaining his water certification that is a requirement of the DEQ.
The Arsenic Treatment Plant is meeting all the required limits.
Attached are 4 “ Letter’s of Agreement” received from Townley Engineering LLC for projects that we propose for this year.
- Beechwood Street repaving.
- Water Main crossing on South Seeger
- Sanitary Sewer crossing on South Seeger
- Develop an Asset Management Plan ( Required by the MDEQ)
Chris Townley will be on the Council Agenda to meet the Council and review the projects.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
Dennis McCabe, Plant Superintendent, attended a Wastewater Conference to earn credits toward maintaining his wastewater certification that is required by the DEQ.
Work on the switchgear has yet to start.
The plant is meeting all the required limits.
BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS
Ten permits were issued in 2016.
One permit for a fence has been issued so far in 2017.
